Job Opportunities

The NGDC, as a collaboration between the WVU and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), offers several positions. Students are currently employed as:

1. Cartographic technicians using ESRI ArcGis software to create and develop maps at national, regional, and state levels.
2. Scanning technicians using Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, Bridge, and Distiller to prepare Soil Survey Historical Replicas for publication on the USDA Soils webpage.
3. Graphic designers using a variety of software to develop the NGDC website, signs, logos, and letterhead.
4. Administrative Assistants processing payroll and new hires, monitoring grants, purchasing supplies, and handling correspondence and other NGDC needs.
